ZBA approves variance for senior facility, 3-2

The Wolfeboro Zoning Board of Adjustment, by a 3-2 vote, approved a variance on Monday, May 5, for a 136-bed senior living facility that could eventually incorporate an Alzheimer care unit and an assisted living section.

The variance is for a 34-acre parcel just north of the intersection of routes 28 and 109 in Wolfeboro Center. The site has frontage on both roads.

Voting in favor of the application were board chair Alan Harding, member Mike Hodder, and alternate member Hank Why. Opposed were members Suzanne Ryan and Fred Tedeschi. Alternate Christine Franson opposed the application during discussion but was not seated for the final vote.
